Joyce Hong is an innovative designer with a purpose to amplify creative counter-narratives. She was born and raised in a small town near the East China Sea before immigrating to Southern California in her early teenage years. Joyce is a storyteller whose artistry is invested in the ways her culture and identity have shaped her. As a first-generation immigrant, she proudly carries on the combined heritage of the Manchus, Tibetans, and Hans.
With a deep interest in art history and preservation, especially in Asian and Near Eastern art, she integrates these cultural narratives into her work. As a designer, she believes that art & design can transcend boundaries of time and geography, telling collective stories that connect us across generations and cultures.
Joyce will be graduating soon from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television with a B.A. in Theater. She is going to pursue her MFA in Design for Stage and Film at NYU Tisch School of the Arts starting in fall 2026.
